As soon as I got home from the yacht, I began a new plan: Denmark’s South Funen Archipelago.
I plotted the route online: https://www.sailingmap.de/revier/ostsee/trip-planning/535-81-30-77-61-72-39-58
Aim: explore the archipelago and visit five islands:
– Als, Denmark
– Fyn, Denmark
– Langeland, Denmark
– Ærø, Denmark
– Fehmarn, Germany
Light winds forecast for Tuesday and Thursday:
• Monday: Kiel–Sønderborg, 36 miles, eight hours. A stop at Biltema in Sønderborg for boat supplies
• Tuesday: Sønderborg–Fåborg, 27 miles, six hours
• Wednesday: Fåborg–Rudkøbing, 25 miles, six hours
• Thursday: Rudkøbing–Marstal, nine miles, two hours
• Friday: Marstal–Orth, 34 miles, eight hours. Try the spinnaker
• Saturday: Orth–Grömitz, 24 miles, six hours
• Sunday: Grömitz–Lübeck, sixteen miles, four hours
171 miles altogether
Weather here: https://www.dwd.de/EN/ourservices/seewetternordostseeen/seewetternordostsee.html
• Monday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday: Western Baltic
• Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: Belts and Sound
Sunrise 6.20am, sunset 8.20pm. Up at five to arrive around lunchtime.
Anton and I arranged to meet aboard on Sunday. He even wrote a post about it. No Heligoland on the route, but he still wanted to come. I printed a crew list and passage plan in case of an inspection, like the recent one described by Grigory.
Ready to go.
