Andrei Iatsuk c/o COCENTERKoppoldstr. 186551 AichachDeutschland contact@deelstuff.comDeelstuff: hosting and access logs
Deelstuff is hosted on an OVHcloud VPS in Poland. Requests involve processing the IP address, request time, requested page or file, response status and technical browser information, including any referring-page address supplied by the browser. These data support delivery, troubleshooting and protection against abuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating a secure, reliable website under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Access logs are size-limited: the file rotates at 10 MiB, with up to five archives and a seven-day archive retention setting. The active file remains until its next rotation; the seven-day setting applies to archives, not every record in the active file. Logs are not used to build advertising profiles.
Aurora and Rassvet: GitHub Pages
The sy-aurora.de and sy-rassvet.com websites are hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub states that visitors’ IP addresses are logged for security purposes whether or not they have a GitHub account. Processing also supports page delivery and infrastructure security; our legal basis for using the hosting service is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
GitHub processes data under its privacy statement, including through international infrastructure. Its statement describes retention, the responsible companies and international-transfer safeguards. GitHub’s own logs are not under our direct control.
Maps and nautical layers
Maps on all three websites load images from tile.openstreetmap.org. Deelstuff also uses EMODnet depth layers from ows.emodnet-bathymetry.eu and OpenSeaMap seamarks from tiles.openseamap.org. Displaying a map sends the relevant service your IP address, technical request information and the coordinates of the requested map tiles.
These requests provide the route maps and nautical context; the legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The maps show published voyages, not the visitor’s current position. Visitor geolocation permission is not requested.
Language, theme and local storage
The browser stores interface preferences: deelstuff.language and deelstuff.theme on Deelstuff, aurora-language on Aurora and rassvet-language on Rassvet. They support the selected language and light or dark theme. These values are not advertising identifiers and are not sent to us as analytics.
Preferences remain until changed or removed through the browser’s site-data controls. Storing user-selected preferences provides the requested functionality under section 25(2)(2) TDDDG; where personal data are processed, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR applies. Pages remain accessible when local storage is unavailable.
Aurora: external AIS map
Aurora’s embedded VesselFinder AIS map loads only after you select the control to load external content. Before that, this block does not connect the browser to VesselFinder. Once loaded, the service receives your IP address and technical data and may use its own cookies and other technologies.
Loading is based on your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and, for storage or access on your device, section 25(1) TDDDG. You can remove the loaded block using its control. A new page visit requires a new choice; data already transmitted remain subject to the external service’s responsibility.
Rassvet: YouTube video
Rassvet’s video tour connects to youtube-nocookie.com only after you consent using the load control. The browser then contacts YouTube/Google and sends your IP address and technical data. The youtube-nocookie.com domain limits some tracking before playback but does not eliminate data transmission to Google or international processing.
The legal bases and the option to remove the loaded block are the same as described above for the external AIS map. YouTube/Google determines further processing and retention under its privacy policy.
Fonts, libraries and analytics
Fonts and Leaflet are served by the respective website, without connecting to Google Fonts or the unpkg CDN. These websites do not use advertising trackers or session recordings.
GoatCounter visitor statistics
All three websites use our own GoatCounter instance on an OVHcloud VPS in Poland. The collection endpoint is stats.deelstuff.com. We count page visits, referral sources and browser languages to understand reader interests and improve the websites. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR: our legitimate interest in limited usage statistics for our own websites.
The counter sends the path and title of a visible page, the referring website origin and technical HTTP request data. URL query parameters and fragments are not sent. IP addresses and User-Agent values are processed temporarily in memory to distinguish sessions within eight hours; they are not written to the analytics database. No visitor cookies or persistent visitor identifiers are used. Geolocation and individual pageview storage are disabled. Aggregate statistics are retained with a configured retention period of 730 days.
The counter respects Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. You can also disable it for your browser by opening the relevant website with #analytics-disable; this choice remains in local storage until you clear website data or open #analytics-enable. Only aggregate figures, popular public pages and charts are sent to the operator’s private Telegram chat through the Telegram Bot API, without visitor IP addresses or identifiers. Statistics from different websites are not linked into individual profiles.
Enquiries and correspondence
If you contact us by email or post, your contact details and message are processed to answer and handle the enquiry. The basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR and, where applicable to pre-contractual enquiries, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Correspondence is retained for as long as needed to handle the enquiry; longer retention may apply where required by law or necessary to establish or defend legal rights.
Letters sent to the published c/o address are received and digitised by COCENTER GmbH, the operator of Anschrift.net. Simply visiting a website does not send your data to this postal service. Its correspondence-processing policy applies when you send a letter.
Your rights
Subject to the statutory conditions, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction and data portability. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests on grounds relating to your particular situation, and withdraw consent for the future. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing.
Use the contact details above to exercise your rights. You may also complain to a data protection supervisory authority, in particular where you habitually reside, work or believe an infringement occurred. There is no mandatory registration data: these websites have no visitor registration. Automated decisions with legal effects and related profiling are not used.
